The port of Mazatlan is one of the cities in the country with the highest scores in the intentions of the business sector to generate new jobs, according to the Employment Expectancy Survey prepared by Manpower

The first quarter of 2018 is positive for Mazatlan and also for Sinaloa. Entrepreneurs plan to generate new sources of work above the national average.

In Mazatlan there is a greater economic dynamism driven by the real estate sector, energy and natural gas. This makes entrepreneurs less cautious when opening new sources of employment compared to the rest of the country, according to the Employment Expectancy Survey prepared by Manpower.

Mazatlan is one of the cities in the country with the highest scores in the intentions of employers to generate new sources of work. At the national level, the net employment trend with seasonal adjustment is 12 percent, in Sinaloa 15 percent, in Culiacán 17 percent and in Mazatlan, 36 percent, according to the survey for the first quarter of 2018.

The divisional manager of Manpower Alía del Ríos Rodríguez, commented that although the trend in the country in general terms is positive, caution is observed on the part of employers on the possibility of creating jobs.

"This indicator is not alarming, but rather cautious, although it does reflect that there will be dynamism in the generation of new jobs," he said.

In the case of Sinaloa, the net employment trend, without seasonal adjustment, at the beginning of the following year is 15 percent, three percentage points more compared to the last quarter of 2017 and four more points compared to the beginning of this year.

The areas in the State where it is considered that there would be new sources of work is in the manufacturing sector, in mining, construction, services, commerce, communications and transport, and agriculture and fishing.

In what corresponds to Mazatlán, Ríos Rodríguez mentioned, without considering the seasonal adjustment, employers in Mazatlán report a net employment trend of 36 percent, one of the highest levels in the country.

41 percent of employers in this municipality plan to increase their workforce, 5 percent expect to reduce it, 50 percent believe they remain unchanged and 4 percent did not know. And the areas where there is expected to be greater economic dynamism and more sources of employment are in the real estate industry, in natural gas, in the manufacturing sector and in energy.

And for the municipality of Culiacán, positive data are also recorded, said the divisional manager of Manpower, since the net employment trend is 17 percent, that is, employers who expect to generate new jobs, compared to 83 per cent. percent that does not consider having changes.
