Mario López Valdez, governor of Sinaloa, a state in the north Mexico, announced that a group of Chinese businessmen are interested in investing in the ports of Topolobampo and Mazatlán.

The state official said that investors from a trust fund of the Chinese government have made proposals about their intentions to participate in the development of the ports of Sinaloa.

"They came and told us: we bring 2 billion dollars. If he manages to have the Port Authority (IPA) disincorporate the state control of the ports, we invest that resource and separate what is the fishing port, the tourist port and the industrial port, "López Valdez said.

Likewise, the governor of Sinaloa highlighted that this Mexican entity has advantages in terms of infrastructure to offer optimum conditions to investors.

He stressed that with the opening of the Durango-Mazatlán highway and the construction of the Northwest Gas Pipeline, business opportunities in Sinaloa will consolidate the entity as one of the most competitive Mexican regions in Mexico.

At a meeting held last May by Mario López Valdez and Zeng Gang, China's ambassador to Mexico, they agreed to establish business opportunities. In this sense, the state president stressed the potential development of the ports of Mazatlan and Topolobampo as the entry of goods from the Asian country.
