Begins in 2018 in Marmol the manufacture of drones for the surveillance to the south of the state of Sinaloa. The economic development secretary in Sinaloa, Javier Lizarraga Mecado, gave the big news that he has tied up an investment of 4 million dollars with the construction of a drone factory, in the union of Marmol in 2018. The company interested in this investment is Singular Aircraft, based in Barcelona, Spain. Other investments in the aerospace, aeronautics, medical and automotive instruments were also reported, which will be located in the south of the state, not only in Mazatlan.

The president of the Council for Economic Development of Sinaloa in the southern zone, said that the total investment that is expected for this drones project is 600 million pesos, providing a generation of 300 jobs and a production capacity of 150 drones. Both agree that the development of the south is marked by the industry of these sectors, who have seen in the region the conditions to settle, especially now with the arrival of natural gas.
