In holding a meeting with Governor Jorge Herrera Caldera and officials of the Economic Development Secretariat (SEDECO), Aouatef Elloumi El Ghoul's vice president said that Durango is the first site of the American continent where they will make an investment of this type, As a result of the new logistics, rail and road infrastructure being built in the entity.

Tunecina said that in conjunction with the construction of an industrial warehouse to manufacture copper wire, a Research and Development Center will be built that will work on innovation projects to enter fully into the United States market competition.

"This research center will mean the recruitment and hiring of higher education graduates from the institutes and universities of the entity," said Governor Herrera Caldera, who emphasized that the installation of COFICAB confirms the arrival of a new stage of industrialization, competitiveness and Economic growth of Durango.

For his part, Mohamed Ali Enneifer, International Projects Manager for the company, explained that part of the group's industrial operations is to attract companies that supply the necessary inputs to lower costs and boost the economy of the area.

In that sense, Mohamed said that negotiations are under way for cable and plastics producers from Spain, Portugal and Italy to settle in the city, because each year the company consumes 100 thousand tons of copper and 50 thousand tons of plastic material.

Regarding the construction of the industrial warehouse, already began the competition to define the company that will take charge of the project, reason why Governor Herrera Caldera asked for a vote of confidence towards the builders of the entity, International quality and commitment of the local entrepreneurs of this branch to assume the responsibility of projects of this type.
