"We hope to expand the economic ties between both countries, and especially with Sinaloa, and we have analyzed some investment items," said the diplomat.
He emphasized that Sinaloa is a very important tourist destination for Canadians, for its beaches and its famous hospitality, and for that reason they decided to open a consulate here, to attend the Canadians that reside permanently in the state, and particularly in Mazatlán.

López Valdez said that "Canadians have their second home in Mazatlan and we value raising the warning for Sinaloa so that more Canadians will visit us."

The governor of Sinaloa said that the security protocols implemented to protect tourists have been successful thanks to the confirmation of the Tourist Police and the close coordination between authorities and operators of tourist services. He stressed that the government decided to invest 77 million pesos in a video surveillance system for this municipality, which consists of 139 cameras, which are already being installed, which is expected to cover 90 percent of the city.
