Governor Quirino Ordaz Coppel attended a meeting with shipping entrepreneurs, led by the President of the Ports of Spain, José Llorca Ortega, as part of the International Tourism Fair.

There, work is currently being done on the modernization, expansion and dredging of the Mazatlan port, which is why the influx of large-scale tourist cruises that have increased considerably since last year has been stimulated.
He emphasized that this is one of the main commercial, tourist and fishing ports of the country, and the entrance gate of the Northern Economic Corridor through the Mazatlán-Durango highway, which has allowed to connect the Pacific with the Atlantic, and at the same time , with the southeastern United States.
Faced with this scenario, Quirino Ordaz pointed out that Mazatlan represents a great opportunity for commercial and industrial development, so he exhorted the businessmen gathered to see Sinaloa as a safe destination for investment.
"We are betting totally supported by President Peña that the port with this logistics that will have, with the technology that will be invested, will be for us another way of strengthening, economic activity and that not only depends on tourism and the fishing, but that will bring us commerce, industry, is something fundamental ", added Ordaz Coppel.
At the moment, the President stressed, the Ministry of Communications and Transportation makes an investment of more than one billion pesos, which will allow both to be at the height of international trade.
The port of Mazatlán, which was presented by its director Fernando Ramírez Elizalde, together with that of Topolobampo, exhibited by the president of Codesin, Mario Cadena, represent a unique and strategic opportunity for international trade, since both have a strategic location with the rest of the country, in addition to the connection with the Asian Pacific.
