Mazatlan has a good development dynamic since the opening of the Superhighway to Durango, in 2013, large-scale projects have been conceived for the port.
One of them is Parque Central, a project led by Mazatlan businessmen.
with an investment of 149 million dollars under a Public Private Partnership scheme, already confirmed by Governor Quirino Ordaz Coppel, it defines it as an entertainment giant and a benchmark in the country and in Latin America.
This confirms the port as a beach destination with a family vocation. It promises the rescue and sustainable development of the area in which it will be built, in the vicinity of the Laguna del Camarón and the Bosque de la Ciudad.
The project coordinator, Guillermo Zerecero, defines it as the only one of its kind in Latin America.
"The museum and the aquarium will be kept alone and will generate income and resources for the maintenance of the green area. They will be self-sustaining, "he promises.
The project covers the Laguna del Camarón, between the Rafael Buelna and Avenida De los Deportes avenues, as established in the project that can be consulted at the Parque Central de Mazatlán website.
The Unión Mazatlán Trust was created, where the efforts of a group of integrated businessmen were combined, to which the three levels of government were added. With the purchase of 12.5 hectares adjacent to the City Forest to the Tellerias family by the State Government, the main obstacle that weighed on the project was solved; the other 18 hectares are part of the City Forest and the area where the Mazatlan Aquarium is located.
