The institutional fund Caxxor Group and MZT Aerospace Park announced the construction of the first aerospace park in Sinaloa: the MZT Aerospace Park, a railway development connecting the state with Winnipeg, Canada, making stops in Durango, Monterrey, Dallas, Tulsa, and Chicago.
The megaproject will be part of the USCMA Corridor and it’s currently building its basic infrastructure with an investment of 1,400 million dollars of a projected total budget of 3,3000 million dollars. According to its developers, adding the port infrastructure (train and shipyard) to MZT Aerospace Park solidifies the technology and transportation industries in Sinaloa.
MZT Aerospace Park is backed by Mexican authorities. Their developers affirm that the government will support any project that represents progress for the country, as long as its viability allows to generate new investment conditions.
Lino Suárez Guzmán, representative for Top Brain – another developer of the project- highlighted that MZT Aerospace Park has a logistic key position for the USCMA Corridor due to Mazatlán location at sea level and the project’s private runway: “There’s a big support and involvement for the local, state and national authorities to develop the necessary logistic infrastructure. Both the government and private investors hope that this project is a success. Talking about the amount invested to build the park infrastructure to build the park we are considering 50 million dollars plus the value of the runway, meaning another 100 million dollars.”
Víctor García – one of the leaders of MZT Aerospace Park – said that the project surface has increased from 68 to 193 hectares, including a 3-kilometer runway and 81 private lots, in the two years since its beginning due to the big demand from some industries.
The port of Mazatlán has an amazing connectivity with other Mexican cities such as Mexico City, Toluca, Querétaro, Puebla, Guanajuato, Guadalajara, Zapopan, Zacatecas, Durango, Gómez Palacio, Torreón, Saltillo, Monterrey, Chihuahua, Tampico, Tijuana, Mexicali, Hermosillo, Obregón, Los Mochis, Culiacán and Tepic.
